These two weeks Arttu has been living with me in small farmtown called Bhan Phaeo, near Bangkok. This small agricultural town is like Vihanti in Finland 😉 , even it´s population is 90 000. Arttu lived in a big, big house in the middle of the jungle, where nice neighbors kept him awake at early mornings.
When someone says ”Thailand”, at first everyone thinks of sunny beaches, but Arttu find out, that Thailand is much more than that.
Arttu noticed, how proud thai people are about their culture, language, nature and King. He tasted so much amazing, delicious food and found the best snack in the world, Koala´s marc.

Arttu and Watthamjariyapirom's sport area and the building, where is thai classes, big sporthall, cafeteria and health classes. 'Whoooa!'
Arttu loved my mom´s omelettes and Phat Thais, which he is definitely going to miss. Thank God he took some cooking lessons in public High School, Watthamjariyapirom, so he can cook some for his Friends all over the world!
Arttu learned other things too. Now he knows how to climb to a palm tree, how to say hello in Thai, how to write his name in extraordinarily difficult thai letters, and that you should not point anyone with your feet, because it´s not polite.
Arttu is really young, so he needed to show a lot of respect for older people. He needed to ” Wai”, use polite particles while talking, and remember to keep his head lower than others. Even there was a lot of things to remember, Arttu survived the daily life really well.

Arttu was sitting nicely with the students, while teacher Mali was giving the daily news after national song.
When Arttu was with me in the school, almost everyone noticed him. Some of the bravest even yelled: เอมมี่ ตุ๊กตาน่ารัก! which means: ”Emmi! Your doll is cute”. My friend, Michel even sang and danced with him. Students didn´t fully understand the purpose of Arttu, because almost no-one can speak English fluently, and my thai is not so good yet.
Arttu went shopping in Bangkok, Central Rama II and he ate some really good Ramen in oishi Ramen. He also tasted some Starbuck´s caramel cappuchino and sniffed some parfumes in makeup section.
The most exiting happening Arttu had was the sport day at 24.12.2010! He saw some sports and awesome costumes. Pity that it was so hot in that day that Arttu needed to stay in shadow all day, so he didn´t see all of the competitions. It was a little bit different Christmas eve for him. There wasn´t even snow on the ground!
At NEW YEAR, Arttu had karaoke party at home, and he had so much fun! All of the Rotary people sang some karaoke and there was dancing and food.
Eventually Arttu enjoyed Thailand, and everyone here liked him. Even his diary is สวย (beautiful) thai people says!
So many people wanted to take kissing pictures with Arttu, but my camera´s batteries ran low, so …maybe next time?
